All Stars Slow Out Of the Blocks - but get there in the end
ROUND 10 vs St Bernards
ROUND 10 vs St Bernards
The boys set the scene early in the first going against the breeze with really good intensity ,quick movement and scoreboard pressure. Like all good teams the Old Xaverians came back and dominated the last 12 minutes of the quarter to lead by 24 points at ¼ time. In the second another great quarter where our work rate demonstrated by all players was outstanding majority of the play started with our on ballers in James Mitchell, Ben McKie and Chris Hood.
We went into saturdays came a couple of players short , but a positive attitude which the boys knew if they get the 4 points they'd move into 6th ...
A brave effort from a patchwork 22 was not enough to get the thirds the points against the still undefeated Old Xav’s. Sheer weight of numbers told in the end as the Xavs had more men at the contest, more inside 50s and significantly more scoring shots.
Round 10: Saturday, 25 June 2011.
The first quarter was not a great standard of footy with both teams struggling. When you play bottom teams with no wins you need to make sure you play to your strengths and not to go back to an unacceptable level. Our first 2 goals came in the first 5 minutes and we looked good then the rest of the quarter was not a great standard of footy with both teams making alot of un forced errors. We agreed at 1/4 time we were not running and our lack of accountability was evident.
2 In a Row. 3 From The Last 4 .. 7th on the ladder things looking up for the Unders .
