No Last Quarter Heroics This Week
OM’s trailed all day at the Junction Oval on Saturday, with wayward kicking and missed opportunity in the first quarter allowing Old Essendon the chance to build a solid lead which it would never surrender. Despite OM’s continually threatening to draw closer in the third quarter, Old Essendon made the most of the perfect conditions on the Junction Oval and slammed on 6 goals to 2 in the last quarter – there would be no last minute heroics this week! Best players for OM’s were Mark Hawkins who battled hard all day and ended up with three goals, and Ed Wilson who worked hard around the stoppages all day.
